Taking it in

Since I’ve gone so far as to create a new website/portfolio showcasing my very raw and unrefined attempts at amateur photography, I’m trying more and more to stop, look around, capture and appreciate all of the moments going on around me. It’s so easy to become incredibly immersed in the day-to-day roll of things, watching as the weather, sunlight, summer nights pass us by without even the slightest notice. Passengers of the mass transit of life, staring at blurred windows until the next stop. There’s so much to take notice and inventory of – from the biggest vacation trip to the shortest trek home from work, and yet we – I – divert focus to the less meaningful. My hope is that as I pause to absorb the activity all around me, I’ll also recognize the blessings contained within it all.
