A Bittersweet Farewell ✝️

Today was the going-home service for my Uncle Joe, a great man and someone that by his example appended to my education about the values of kindness, acceptance, humility, laughter, and the incredible power of something as tiny and as simple as a smile. He wasn’t a perfect person, but all the more that imperfection being a testimony of what each of us – in our respective flaws & occasional missteps – can still do and contribute to our immediate worlds and circles. Always a hugger, always a kiss on the cheek for the ladies, his character stood out in the most subtle yet obvious way, and the absence of that character will be recognized and the wonderful person behind it terribly missed.

Rest in Peace, Uncle Joe. // May the works I’ve done speak for me. //
