Tonight I got to listen to our Alabama Symphony Orchestra perform my absolute favorite classical piece of all time – Maurice Ravel’s Bolero! It was about 0.03% unusual to be at an event like that alone – it was pretty full, with much of the patrons coupled up and much much older than I – but once the music started, I was pretty immersed in it, the orchestra, and the incredible serenity of it all. I was describing the night to a friend, and the predominant feeling I keep having when remembering it is that the experience “refreshed my soul”. So thank you, ASO, for a phenomenal Friday evening – it will be a part of my happiest thoughts for a very long time! 😊
